Better than the 'real' SNICKERS Bar.....

• 2 cups milk chocolate chips
• 1/2 cup butterscotch chips
• 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
• 1/4 cup butter
• 1 cup sugar
• 1/4 cup evaporated milk
• 1 1/2 cups marshmallow crème (1-7 oz. jar)
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1 1/2 cups salted peanuts, chopped
• 1 (14 ounce) package caramels
• 1/4 cup whipping cream
1. Melt together 1 cup milk chocolate chips, 1/4 cup butterscotch chips, and 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter then spread on bottom of 9 X 13 cake pan- put in refrigerator or freezer to set up while next layer is prepared.
2. Boil 1/4 cup butter, 1 cup sugar, and 1/4 cup evaporated milk together for 5 minutes.
3. Take off stove and add 1 1/2 cups marshmallow crème, 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and 1 1/2 cups salted and chopped peanuts.
4. Pour over first layer that was chilling then place back in freezer.
5. Melt 14 ounces of caramels with 1/4 cup whipping cream until smooth then pour over second layer that is chilling- place back in freezer.
6. Melt together 1 cup milk chocolate chips, 1/4 cup butterscotch chips, and 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter then spread on the top of of third layer in the pan.
7. Return to chill until set up.
8. Store in refrigerator to keep from getting too soft.
9. ENJOY & try to control yourself from eating the entire pan!!!! I'm so serious!!

TIPS: On step #2, make sure you stir constantly & boil at the lowest possible heat you can. If you happen to burn or if it crystallizes…start over. I swear, I’m not a candy maker and I end up repeating this step at least twice every time I make these.
You can put quick release foil on the bottom. Although I have never done this, I've heard it works GREAT!
After you pour the first layer of chocolate/butterscotch into the pan, lightly PAM non-sticking spray around the sides of your pan. This will help everything come out clean.

Minus 2 Bottom Teeth....

What a CRAZY week we have had!! Sunday our church time changed from 1PM to 10:30 AM...Yea, All I can say is...FAMILY NAP TIME is BACK!!!! I love being able to take a nap on Sunday!!

It's my week to teach Luke's Preschool! Yea! The kids are all so cute and eager to learn! Most of the kids know me from church but at school they call me Ms. Amanda...it catches me off guard every time! I asked each of them what they did over the weekend...Luke was the first to raise his hand, so I let him at it...."I had fun watching football with my dad!"..Which was followed by..Seth, "I watched football with my dad too," then, Hayden,"I LOVE FOOTBALL!" I love the cute things kids say. I have to admit that I'm surprised that Luca was first, he is usually very content as a follower. We have had some fun times painting and coloring and of course counting, reading and playing!!

I volunteered to be the Art Docent for Bella's class. I don't know why, but I am SOOOO nervous!! I didn't get much sleep last week just thinking about it. I guess it was fear of the unknown! I really & truly didn't know what I was doing. A friend helped me out a little in explaining and showing me her things she had used in the past years. So basically, what an Art Docent does is come into the classroom about every month for an hour and teach the kids about a famous artist, then I teach them to do an art piece inspired by the artist. I chose to teach about Piet Mondrian today. The kids actually did SO well!! After all was said and done, I had FUN & Mrs. McKay was so nice to give some nice compliments. The kids loved it so much they kept asking if I was coming back tomorrow or next week. I don't think they have time for many art projects. One thing I've learned working with kids...they don't mind getting their hands dirty(we'll, most kids).

On Monday night Isabella & Luke were fooling around playing "Indiana Jones", when all of a sudden I hear the kids go from laughing to crying. Bella comes running over to me, "Mom, are my teeth bleeding?" They were! She started crying because she had put the rope in her mouth and Luke pulled it a little too hard. This seriously loosened her teeth so much...that she ended up pulling them out herself. I really have to give it to her, she was SO brave!!! She wouldn't let me get near them...then about 10 minutes later, minus her first 2 bottom teeth! What a Great smile she has now!!! Luke seems to think his teeth are loose too.

A couple of weeks ago Bella came home with a entry for the Reflections Contest. She looked at it and asked me what it was all about. After I told her what it was, she lit up and said, "So, can I enter my art piece that I made for Grandma when she had cancer?" I was so surprised! Honestly, my kids surprise and teach me things everyday! Anyways, I said, "Of course!" Well, we went to the "Award ceremony" last night and she received Outstanding Interpretation for Visual Arts. She was so excited to see all of the other kids things!! I realized being there that it should have not surprised me that she would want to enter something like this (because she doesn't have to actively participate in anything). NO TALKING INVOLVED!! That is unless you win an award and they call you up to take it & shake the Principals hand. She ended up not going up and the Principal ended up walking it to her. She is so shy! I think I used to be that shy when I was her age too. Mom...I need you... help, was I?? I can't remember a lot of my childhood! Sad. Anyway, we are talking about my sweet Bella! Her art work will get to go to the district level. The ceremony for that is in January some time. She says she doesn't want to go, but her friend Chloe was chosen to also go to the district level for her beautiful Poem and I think she is 'rethinking' now that Chloe is going. I'm so proud of her!!!
(It's the Flower Pot Piece...Isn't it gorgeous?) Yes, I'm the Mom that TOTALLY forgot to bring her camera!!! I was SOOOO mad at myself! Luckily our friends snapped some shots (I'll have to add them as soon as I get them).
